FAQ’s

Where does your money go and how is it being used?

Any money donated via the above link, through the Straight Down the Centre website will be held in a Westpac account, named Straight Down the Centre. Any funds in this account is strictly utilised for all running expenses of Straight Down the centre. This includes fuel, food and expenses directly linked to the completion of Straight Down the Centre’s charitable objective.

All funds in surplus of these running costs will be donated to Westmead Hospital Foundation to support Von Willebrand Disease research.

What are the estimate running costs?

In lieu of recent decisions to post pone this trek and host the event locally to the Central West, the original running costs will have to be reevaluated. The goal of Straight Down the Centre will always remain at our forefront. Maximise donations ensuring the greatest figure is made available to the Westmead Hospital Foundation.

As an example, the original estimates prior to the fuel crisis to support the 2722km drive incorporating travel to and from Cargo NSW fuel costs totalled approximately $5388.

A document projecting all running costs is being reassessed for the trek to go ahead in Orange NSW later in the year and will be made available for all donors and interested parties to view. This will highlight all expenses Brent has taken on personally through his business Brent Twaddle International Promotions PTY LTD.

How long will the charity remain open?

The terms of reference provided by the Westmead Hospital Foundation allows for donations to be collected up until December 2026. Due to the fuel crisis, Straight Down the Centre will likely request an extension to support the shifted location and itinerary.

This document will be made available shortly on this website.

Who has funded the build of the mower and trailer?

Brent, the founder, organiser and promotor of Straight Down the Centre has privately funded the build to date and will continue to do so. Brent commits that no donated funds will be utilised for the construction and preparation of the John Deere X750 and support trailer.

What is Brent Twaddle International Promotions PTY LTD, and what connection does it have to the charity?

Brent Twaddle Internation Promotions PTY LTD (BTIP) was a company (ABN: 33 003 738 047) was registered in 1999 to support, plan and organise motorsport events as Brent’s primary income. This company has been linked to Straight Down the Centre for the sole purpose of issuing receipts so donors can claim a tax deduction.

The charity and its association to BTIP seeks guidance and advise from CKC Accountants operating from Orange NSW. Straight Down the Centre is committed to engaging an independent accountant to conduct an audit at the conclusion of the trek to uphold our commitment to transparency.
